Congratulations to the Student Government Student of the Month for March... Joshua Ferguson from Seminole State College! Joshua was nominated by his advisor, Megan Yavar. Here is what Megan shared with us about Joshua:
"Joshua has taken initiative to assist me with anything I need, whether it's signing students in at events or talking to students about SGA. I know I can count on Joshua, which is vital since our SGA team is so small. One instance that made me wish to nominate him was when I gave him the task to promote our leadership retreat during an event. He took it upon himself to pass out flyers and go up to students who were passing by. He was friendly and was very persuasive when promoting to students. It showed me exactly how much he's grown in his position because when he first started, he was terrified of public speaking.
Joshua makes sure students know who he is and what SGA is about. In the beginning of the semester, we did plenty of classroom visits where he had a commanding presence and promoted SGA to the students. He is also interested in going into politics, so he made sure to get business cards from the state legislators when we were in Tallahassee. He put himself out there and asked for their advice. He is working hard and it is definitely paying off."
Congratulations, Joshua! Thank you to Ms. Yavar for nominating him for this recognition!
