Congratulations to the Student Government Student of the Month for September... Christopher Olivo from Florida SouthWestern State College! Christopher was nominated by his advisor, Gabrielly Cordon-Ayala! Here is what Gabrielly shared with us about Christopher:
"Chris Olivo has shown tremendous growth and dedication in his role as the Collier Campus Vice President. His journey began with the hard work of raising and maintaining his GPA in order to qualify for this leadership position, demonstrating both perseverance and commitment to academics. Chris has been one of the first to engage in every leadership development opportunity available, including the Spring Student Seminar, the overnight leadership retreat, and the annual Student Leadership Conference—attending multiple times to continue refining his skills. Most recently, he has stepped up to help lead activities at the upcoming regional retreat, further exemplifying his initiative and eagerness to contribute. In addition, Chris consistently volunteers to assist with organizing and running events, ensuring that every detail is in place to make SGA initiatives successful. His reliability and consistency set him apart, and his enthusiasm for learning and leading continues to inspire his peers.
Chris demonstrates leadership through his unwavering passion for helping others and building community. He goes beyond his responsibilities by encouraging peers to attend events, even traveling to other campuses to support them and strengthen connections across the college. Chris is known for making everyone feel welcome, fostering friendships, and creating an inclusive environment within SGA and beyond. His dependability allows his team to rely on him for both planning and execution, while his supportive nature makes him a strong partner to his president and fellow officers. Whether leading an initiative, assisting at an event, or stepping into new roles, Chris consistently shows that leadership is not just about holding a title but about serving others with dedication and integrity. His growth has been inspiring to watch, and he continues to develop into a well-rounded, impactful leader on campus and in the community."
Congratulations, Christopher!! Thank you to Ms. Cordon-Ayala for nominating him for this recognition!
