Congratulations to our Student Government Student of the Month for October... Yusuke Yoshizawa from Hillsborough Community College! Yusuke was nominated by his advisor Catherine Korman! 

Here's what she had to say about him:

"Yusuke has quickly become one of the most visible faces within the HCC Dale Mabry Student Government Association-- no small feat, considering he is competing with 49 other students for that position. As a Senator, he has accumulated more than 120 hours of community involvement. This includes participating in civic volunteering opportunities off campus, volunteering with the campus Food Pantry and Feeding Tampa Bay Mega Pantries, and participating in professional development workshops. These accomplishments are laudable in and of themselves, but are especially impressive when one takes into account that this is Yusuke's first semester in SGA.

Yusuke is always the first person to raise his hand when anyone-- student, advisor or administrator-- asks for help. Even when the tasks assigned to him are less than pleasant (like setting up an activity for students in the hot sun), he approaches everything with amazing energy and a positive attitude. He is a constant source of support, to the extent that I can't remember the last time I didn't see him at least once a day during the week. When I put out a late call for volunteers for a Friday evening event, Yusuke made sure that he was available and arrived early. Beyond that, Yusuke shows an insight into what his constituents need, and accepts constructive criticism with an incredible amount of grace. Our campus Student Government Association is humbled by the amount of effort that Yusuke has invested into the organization."
