Congratulations to one of the Student Government Students of the Month for December... Mason Vawter from Hillsborough College! Mason was nominated by his advisor, Cheyenne Olson. Here is what Cheyenne shared with us about Mason:
"Mason is one of the most hardworking students I have ever had Student Government Association. He is always there to help any student, club or organization. His mission to help increase club involvement has been success this fall by increasing the number of clubs from 3 to 13. Not only is he the SGA Treasurer, but he is the President of the Dudgeons and Dragons Club, along with a club member for several of the 13 clubs on campus. He is an active committee chair of the Awareness Committee, spreading important conversations around campus and creating an environment for students that is not only positive, but can help change the campus! He is a positive light in SGA and a go getter - truly an inspiration to his fellow student body.
He also made a major impact through community service by helping launch the Empower Her Essentials Drive with the Acts of Kindness (AOK) Committee. This initiative collected hygiene products for women in need, empowering students to give back while raising awareness for an important cause. Through his dedication, service, and initiative, Mason has proven to be a leader who leads with heart. He’s not only made a difference within SGA but has also strengthened our campus culture by inspiring others to get involved, serve their community, and lead with purpose."
Congratulations, Mason! Thank you to Ms. Olson for nominating him for this recognition!
