Congratulations to the Student Government Student of the Month for December... Sharjeel Malik from Florida SouthWestern State College! Sharjeel was nominated by his advisor, Gabrielly Cordon-Ayala!

"Sharjeel Malik exemplifies excellence and leadership in his role as Vice President of the Lee Campus, the largest location within our college. His enthusiasm and dedication have left an indelible mark on SGA, inspiring his peers and elevating the organization’s standards. Sharjeel collaborated with the SGA President to present a dynamic and engaging workshop at the 2024 FCSSGA Leadership Conference, showcasing his ability to educate and motivate student leaders statewide. During the Region 4 Retreat, he further demonstrated his commitment to leadership development by facilitating an impactful activity that challenged participants to think critically and work collaboratively. A force of determination and advocacy, Sharjeel is unafraid to address tough questions and engage in meaningful dialogues with college administrators. His tenacity ensures that student voices are heard, and his ability to represent diverse perspectives makes him an invaluable advocate for his peers. Sharjeel also serves as a role model through his academic achievements, earning recognition on the 2023–24 FCSAA All-Academic Team in SGA. Sharjeel’s organization, reliability, and unwavering commitment to student leadership make him a standout figure within SGA. He is not only a beacon of excellence for his campus but also a testament to the power of student leadership in fostering positive change.

Sharjeel Malik is a dedicated leader who continually seeks to develop and inspire others. His commitment to growth is evident through his active participation in our overnight leadership retreat and the student leadership conference, where he honed his skills and built connections to strengthen his leadership impact. Beyond his role in SGA, Sharjeel serves as the Fellowship Chair for Alpha Phi Omega (APO) National Service Fraternity, organizing meaningful fellowship events that foster unity and engagement among members. He has also completed the rigorous 3-tier Leadership Academy program, showcasing his dedication through workshop presentations, service hours, and introspective self-assessment. As an FSW Leadership Ambassador, Sharjeel exemplifies mentorship by guiding and supporting fellow student leaders in training. His contributions have enriched both our campus and the broader community, making him an example of what it means to lead with purpose."
