Music Student of the Month: April

Music Student of the Month: April

Congratulations to the Music Student of the Month for April... Marcus Johnson for State College of Florida! Marcus was nominated by his advisor, Don Bryn. Here is what Don shared with us about Marcus:

"Marcus is a model student, academically, musically, and as a citizen of the music program and the college. He has attended the FCSSAA music symposium 3 years, competing in the student artist competition in 2025, and winning the low voice category. He has been a music ambassador for 2 years, always volunteering to help and being a professional and pleasant diplomat for the music program. He has been completely involved in the Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, and Music Theatre Ensemble during his entire time at SCF, playing the lead roles in Into the Woods (Narrator), The Gondoliers (Antonio), and Guys & Dolls (Sky Masterson). He is a composition student with pieces performed by the choir, and has performed as a student conductor.

Marcus is a leader by example, serving in a leadership role for the music ambassadors for 2 years. His third year he went on to become the vice-president of the Student Government Association. He also serves on the SGA SABRE Budget Committee where he discusses and helps to manage a budget of over a million dollars. He is reliable and responsible and we have come to trust in his leadership."

Congratulations, Marcus! Thank you to Mr. Bryn for nominating him for this recognition!
