Theatre Student of the Month: February

Theatre Student of the Month: February

Congratulations to Justin DeRocco, North Florida Community College, our Theatre Division Student of the Month for February.  He was nominated by Denise Bell.

Here’s what Ms. Bell shared with us about Justin: “Justin was recruited into our theater program through friends involved in our campus shows two years ago. He began as the A/V assistant working the projectors.  Since then he has been involved in every aspect of the technical booth, working with the projectors, setting lights for shows and set-building as our master carpenter. He stepped outside his comfort zone last year and acted in two original shows – One Acts and A Taste for Murder. He has proven to be very versatile and excels at any tasks given to him. He has also proven to be reliable working with our community theater, which hosts productions with anywhere from 15 to 63-member casts, ages three and up.  Furthermore, Justin is a member of SGA, holding the position of Vice-President of Campus Relations & Activities and has shown his leadership in working with the various events held on campus.  He also works on campus in the Student Center as a student worker setting up activities and events for on and off campus events. No task is too great or too small, and he is always willing to lend a helping hand.”

Congratulations to this outstanding student, and our thanks to Ms. Bell for taking the time to nominate him for this recognition.
