Theatre Student of the Month #1: October 2020

Theatre Student of the Month #1: October 2020

Here comes another Student of the Month! This week, we would like to congratulate one of the TWO FCSAA Theatre Division Students of the Month for October... Michael Longobardi of State College of Florida! Michael was nominated by her advisor, Amanda Schlachter. Here Michael is pictured on the right during her live-action performance of "Make Believe."

Here is why Ms. Schlachter nominated Michael for this award: "Michael has been with The SCF Theatre Department for the last two years and is expected to graduate in December of 2020. Michael has served the theatre department in multiple ways including Scholarship work, Work-Study, Acting, and Set Construction. She has performed in over eight productions with us playing major roles in many of the shows. Michael received our "Director's Award" in the spring of 2020 for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the theatre. She is always looking for ways to expand her knowledge of the theatre. One of the most outstanding aspects Michael brings to the theatre is her attitude. She is a joy to work with and is a bright light in the day.

Michael serves as a leader in our Theatre Department by always being on time, prepared, and ready to work. She has performed in many of our productions and built many sets with us. She stays away from any gossip or pettiness and works with a quiet strength. Currently, she is a Work-Study Student and she serves as a leader to other students that are new to the program. In addition, Michael works a part-time job in the community and rides horses. She is kind, talented, and focused in all that she does!"

Again, congratulations to Michael on her recognition as one of our FCSAA Theatre Students of the Month for October, and thank you to Amanda for nominating her for this award. Want to know who the other Theatre SOTM is? Check back in later this month to see who it is!
