Congratulations to Adriana Ayala, Pensacola State College, for being awarded as the FCSAA Theatre Division Student of the Month for October! She was nominated by her advisor, Rodney Whatley.
Here is what Rodney told us about Adriana: "Adriana has been a successful actor in a featured role in our recent production of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" in which she learned how to rollerskate in one month specifically for the play. She has also been cast and is rehearsing now for a featured dancer ensemble in "The Producers." In addition to her stage work as a performer, Adriana also works as a professional stage technician with our auditorium staff. Added to these accomplishments is her role in the classroom as a scholar; she has made herself a standout in her Dramatic Literature course this semester with her timely and effective reaction papers to each play as we finish reading them. Her papers are well-written, and she is always the first to turn in her assignment, usually ahead of their due dates.
By being successful as an actor, a technician, and a scholar, Adriana has established herself as a leader in her community. For that reason, she has earned a place as a possible grant recipient in Pensacola State College's annual application to the Florida Theatrical Association. Should we receive the grant, she will be one of only six students recognized for promise as a theatre major and worthy of having the FTA invest in her future."
Congratulations to this exceptional student, Adriana Ayala, our Theatre Student of the Month! And a big thank you to Rodney for nominating her.
