Theatre Student of the Month: February

Theatre Student of the Month: February
Congratulations to David Jackson, Eastern Florida State College, for being awarded as the FCSAA Theatre Division Student of the Month for February! David was nominated by his director, Jeanine Henry.

Here is what Ms. Henry had to say about David: "David Jackson is currently playing Demetrius in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM and also played Haemon in ANTIGONE and Rusty Charlie in GUYS AND DOLLS. He played Buster in THE YELLOW LINE, which was performed at the State College Ten Minute Play Festival at the Florida Theatre Conference in November 2019. He played several characters in THE BROTHERS GRIMM SPECTACULATHON and also designed and built scenery for that production.

David is the scenery committee chair for our current production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM and is doing an excellent job. He is getting other students involved and delegating tasks to them. He also took the initiative to design and build a scenic element that we were going to purchase, thus saving the college over $1500. At David’s initiative, we secured SGA funding to take students to the Outdoor Theatre Auditions in Greensboro, NC in January of 2020. Thanks to him, students got the opportunity to audition for professional companies."

Congratulations to this phenomenal student, David Jackson, our Theatre Student of the Month! Thank you to Jeanine Henry for nominating him for this recognition.
