Congratulations to Morgan Forehand and Aska Cogburn, a pair from Eastern Florida State College, for being awarded as the Theatre Division Students of the Month for December! The two were nominated by their advisor, Jeanine Henry.
Here is why Jeanine nominated Morgan and Aska for this recognition: "Morgan Forehand and Aska Cogburn played lead roles in our production of ANTIGONE with Morgan playing Antigone and Aska playing Creon. Together, they were phenomenal cast leaders. They worked tirelessly on very difficult material, attending all rehearsals, memorizing lines, and developing rich, dynamic characters. In addition, they attended workdays and cheerfully helped paint scenery, sew banners, and improve costumes. They were kind to everyone and got along well with their peers. They demonstrated that actors in the largest roles are called leads not because they have leading parts, but because they are leaders of the cast. They modeled hard work and positive attitudes which affected the rest of the cast. This was a difficult play but one of the most stress-free productions on which I have worked. I attribute that, in part, to the amazing attitude of this cast which took their cue from Morgan and Aska. It is for this reason that I name both of them as Student of the Month. Together, they were terrific cast leaders."
Another congratulation to this outstanding duo, Morgan and Aska, two of our Theatre Students of the Month! Thank you, Jeanine, for nominating them for this award.
