SGA Student of the Month October

SGA Student of the Month October

Congratulations to Edd Lentz Philistin, selected as a Florida College System Activities Association Student Government Division Student of the Month! He was nominated by his SGA advisor, Joseph Pickering.

Here’s what Mr. Pickering shared with us about Edd: “Eddie was recently elected as the SG president for Broward College, North Campus. He sought to make a change on the campus and hit the ground running. Over the summer semester he completed six courses, maintained a 3.83 (semester GPA) and was actively engaged in planning events and working with his e-board to get organized for the entire year 2016-17. He displays leadership skills that his peers respond to, and he is always willing to listen to his fellow students’ concerns. Eddie is organizing a group of engaged SG members (not just the e-board), and he is using his team to accomplish great things on the campus and in the community.

Eddie's leadership is demonstrated by the fact that in one semester he volunteered over 150 hours in the community and on campus. He works countless hours to maintain excellent grades in the classroom and still manages to serve as a leader on the campus representing student government at various committee meetings and events across the college.”

Congratulations to this outstanding student, and my thanks to Mr. Pickering for taking the time to nominate him for this recognition.
