Congratulations to Sue Small-Kreider, Daytona State College, for being selected as the second Publications Division Student of the Month for May! Sue was nominated by her advisor, Armando Rodriguez.
Here is what we learned about Sue from Armando: "Sue served as the only WebMaster/Graphic Design Editor in a bare-bone student editorial staff. She drove WordPress architecture and web content management systems with zero hands-on experience. Sue single-handedly upgraded a neglected WordPress configuration into an accurate/real-time newspaper website serving the global DSC community. She migrated DSC In Motion from a printed to a virtual publication with 100% fully-loaded content, out-performing two previous WebMasters. Sue has written & published an editorial on the COVID-19 pandemic effects on DSC students and faculty, highlighting how to best communicate and finish courses in an online environment.
Sue has a spear-headed partnership with the WDSC-TV Channel 15 broadcasting staff recruiting talented students to participate and preserve the DSC In Motion publication during crucial times when newspaper sustainment was in doubt. She extended her website experience from DSC to her local church to create and manage their now thriving website. Sue also published an editorial promoting the college mascot to provide a tangible sense of DSC school spirit in order to boost student morale during a lengthy and unprecedented pandemic lock-down effecting over 26K students."
What an honor it is to acknowledge this individual. Congratulations to Sue Small-Kreider, our second Publications Student of the Month, and thank you to Armando Rodriguez for nominating her.
