Publications Student of the Month: December

Congratulations to Katelyn James, College of Central Florida, selected as our Publications Division Student of the Month for December!

Here’s what we learned about Katelyn: “Katelyn was awarded student of the year for her dedication and leadership towards, but not limited to, the Patriot Press. She moved up from staff writer to online editor of the Patriot Press and is now the current editor-in-chief. She has been a part of publishing 10 issues of the Patriot Press and will be a part of publishing five more. Along with the Patriot Press, she is a writing editor for Imprints Literary and Art Magazine.

Last October, she was awarded membership into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and in February she was elected the President of PTK. This past month, she was awarded PTK Regional Service Officer of Florida, Peru and the Virgin Islands. Last semester, she was accepted into the Community of Scholars, which includes taking honors courses while being a full-time student. She was also a member of Model United Nations and was elected president at the end of last year. She successfully represented the countries of Nigeria and Italy at the past two Southern Regional Model United Nations conference.”
