Forensics Student of the Month September

Forensics Student of the Month September

Congratulations to Danielle Thomas-Rodgers, Florida Gateway College, who was named our Forensics Division Student of the Month!  Danielle was nominated by her Forensics coach, Dr. Sheri Carder.  Here’s what Dr. Carder had to say about her:

“Danielle is a mother of five who returned to college, who loved public speaking, and who wanted to be on our Forensics team. Imagine! She's active in her church and her community. She commutes one hour to school. She has participated with us for three semesters now, including being at the FCSAA State Forensics Tournament while pregnant last year. She participated in four different events and went to the finals at one tournament. She's the "mother hen" to the rest of the youngsters in the group, often helping them in rehearsals. She's the most mature member of our team and can be counted on to get her pieces ready by herself. She represents the team when we present our pieces to the college community and to civic clubs in our town, in the name of service learning, and she recruits new members for the team.”

Congratulations to this outstanding student, and our thanks to Dr. Carder for taking the time to nominate her!
