Forensics Student of the Month: January

Forensics Student of the Month: January

Congratulations to Miss Glenyz Pereira, a student at Miami Dade College, Kendall Campus, who was selected as a Florida College System Activities Association Forensics Division Student of the Month for January.  She was nominated by Dr. William Murphy.

Here’s what Dr. Murphy shared with us about Glenyz: “Glenyz is the president of the MDC Forensics Society. She has asserted strong leadership in that role, coordinating a team of about 20 students. She actively participates in the Miami Dade Urban Debate League as a volunteer, in addition to work at the Superhero Leadership Academy. She competes in six events but still makes time to help all the novices on the team. Her work ethic is infectious, and the compassion with which she treats others is commendable. She has attended every event for the team so far this academic year, giving up eight weekends for the team, while also fulfilling club responsibilities to Student Life. This past fall term, Glenyz qualified for the semifinal round in Parliamentary Debate at the Lynn Debates and received awards in Poetry, Program Oral Interpretation, and Duo Interpretation at the Star Tournament in Jacksonville.”

Congratulations to this outstanding student, and our thanks to Dr. Murphy for taking the time to nominate her for this recognition.
