Forensics Student of the Month March

Forensics Student of the Month March

Congratulations to Adonis Lane, Florida State College at Jacksonville, who was selected as the March Student of the Month for the Forensics Division!  Adonis was nominated by his coach, Professor Chad Kuyper.

Here's what Professor Kuyper shared with us about Adonis: "Adonis has emerged this year as a star competitor, in a year when FSCJ is fortunate enough to have many strong players.  He consistently puts in his best effort, which he has seen pay off in competitive success throughout the year.  At the FCSAA championship, he placed 2nd in Impromptu, 2nd in Prose, 2nd in DI, and 1st in Persuasion, which was enough for a 3rd place finish in pentathlon.  Finally, he was named state champion at the FIFA state championship in Duo, beating many competitors from major 4-year universities in the state.

Adonis is much more than a talented competitor, however.  Completely unbidden by me, Adonis started addressing the team before and after each tournament to encourage them to achieve their individual goals.  Adonis is the kind of leader the team turns to because he is humble and selfless in all he does.  He never puts the spotlight on himself, and as a result, the team places their utmost faith in his leadership.  Finally, it must be stated that Adonis is one of the kindest students I have encountered at FSCJ.  He drops everything at the drop of a hat if someone around him needs help.  His motives are always genuine and I can’t think of a better exemplar of the activity and the association than him."

Congratulations to this outstanding student, and our thanks to Professor Kuyper for nominating him!
