For the FCSSGA February Conference held February 6th-7th, members were encouraged to bring donations for the students and staff of Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, who suffered tremendous damage from Hurricane Michael and are still on the road to recovery. The employee and student donation wish list consisted of everyday supplies that they were either running low on or had completely exhausted only four months after the devastation. After collecting all the contributions from FCSSGA advisors and students, FCSAA staff drove a truckload of charitable donations to GCSC. Gulf Coast advisors and staff were beyond grateful to receive the offerings from all of FCSSGA and appreciated the commitment to help from our community. It was eye-opening to see the disastrous outcome Hurricane Michael had on the Panama City community and has helped both the FCSSGA and the FCSAA to demonstrate that a little help goes an exceptionally long way for those in need. We plan on making more trips to Gulf Coast State College to continue supporting them through their uphill battle to a safe, clean community.
