Men's Cross Country Championships Title claimed by Daytona State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 26, 2018) – The FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Cross Country Championships were held at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.

Daytona State College won the men’s championship while running its inaugural season of Cross Country. Tallahassee Community College came in second place and Florida State College of Jacksonville finished third.

Daytona State claimed the championship title with help from Coach of the Year, Judy Wilson.

Qualifying first for the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 All State team was Hillary Kandle of Seminole State College. Kandle ran a 26:41.4-minute race in the Men’s 8K and broke the race record. Hillary Kandle was also named FCSAA Runner of the Year.

Seminole State’s Yassin Raffey also qualified for All State second, followed by Tyler Simmons of Daytona State (third), Brandon Flagler of TCC (fourth) and Ari G-Wolf of Daytona State (fifth).
