Pasco-Hernando claims Championship Title for Women's Cross Country

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 26, 2018) – The FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Cross Country Championships were held at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.

Results for the women’s championship showed Pasco-Hernando State College taking the title for their third year in a row. The team was led by Coach of the Year, Jacki Wachtel. Daytona State College, Tallahassee Community College, South Florida State College, and Florida Gateway College followed close behind.

Pasco-Hernando also had help from FCSAA Runner of the Year, Olivia D’Angelo. Olivia qualified first for FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 All State with a 19:44.2-minute run in the Women’s 5K, breaking a race and course record.

Also qualifying for All State was Isabel Oliveto, Quincy Mayer and Grace De’Angelo of Pasco-Hernando State College ranking second through fourth, as well as Kris Gray of Daytona State College finishing fifth.
